Going to make a play on Sacramento tonight. They are visiting Dallas and are a 9.5 point underdog. The Mavs are playing good right now, almost beating San Antonio last night in a hard fought game. I think of this game tonight as sort of a sandwich game for the Mavs, since they are playing the Lakers on Sunday and they may be looking ahead a bit to that one. They may rest some starters late in this game tonight and Sacramento has been pretty good at covering in this situation all season. Take the 9.5

We have another one returning today that we bet last time out. May have needed that last race and is dropping in class here..The horse is named Boutrous, and is entered in the third race. David Flores returns to ride and this looks like the perfect spot for this horse..

Celtics-Suns Tonight

Making a play on the over in this contest. The total is at 217.5 at some outlets. It has already moved up slightly at others. The Celtics visit the Suns having lost 2 in a row on this West Coast road trip. They have been to Denver and Golden State, both high scoring teams and both of those games have gone over..Now they visit Phoenix, another high scoring team, and with Shaq added this week to the lineup, they are looking to rise to the top in Western Conference. We figure this to be a wild game with alot of points scored. Take the over.

Went 1-1 last night , losing the Sacramento-Portland under bet. They scored 33 combined points in the third quarter, and then some how lit it up in the fourth quarter for 64 points taking the total over..that will happen, that is the nature of the game....We have just one selection for tonight's action so far and that is the under on the Detroit-Milwaukee game. The total stands at 189.

We have been working with our numbers here at the half-way point of the season, making adjustments to our pace factor numbers. Anybody out there have their own way of making totals on the NBA? Would love to hear some input from other cappers about how they go about making a line and projecting the total on a game..

Santa Anita Wednesday Feburary 13th

Racing tommorow at Santa Anita making up for some of the lost dates due to the track problems..we have one going in the fifth race. It is number nine on the program, Miss Fremont. Had this horse during my trip to Santa Anita last month. She took the lead with 100 yards to go and was beaten at the wire. She looks good to go in here with Victor Espinosa staying on to ride. She is listed at 7/2 on the morning line so we will take another shot with her.

Another racing day lost to the track surface problems at Santa Anita. They announced earlier today that Friday's card will be cancelled due to the fact that the renovation of the track is not complete..you can actually watch the work being done right here:

NBA Free Selection For Friday Feburary 1st

We are going to take the under tonight in the Laker-Raptors game. The Lakers just started a nine game road trip which, we believe, is a team record. They have been becoming more of an under team of late without Andrew Bynum in the middle. Maybe they have decided to play tougher on defense since they are missing a valuable scoring threat in Andrew. The total on tonight's game is at 205.

NBA Friday Feburary 1st

Lost our game last night. We weren't even close on that one! I was watching during the fourth quarter and heard one of the commentators say that the Spurs were shooting 19% from inside the three-point arc so far in the quarter..somehow, they won that game after I fell asleep watching it. Nothing so far tonight..we will wait until all the lines are up.
