NBA Playoffs Continue- Wednesday Free Selection

We pulled out a win the other night by one point with Boston and Atlanta staying under 190. Some books had this total as low as 187.5 late in the day, good thing we make our wagers early. Betting early in the day gives us the best lines to bet into usually and there is no second guessing involved. We take what we get and live with it.

Tonight, the Celtics and Hawks move back to Boston in what has become a pretty wild series. The surprising Hawks have come back to tie this series at 2-2 and have renewed their confidence some. Problem is, they have to play tonight in front of a rabid crowd of Boston fans who will be ready to give them all they can take and more. Once again, we go for the under here as we look for the Celtics to completely shut down the Hawks early and often and pull away to take a 3-2 lead in the series. I have this game at 175 or 176. The total is at 187.5.

NBA Playoffs Monday April 28th-Free Selection

We are back in the swing of things having hit our last three selections. Two for two last night and we will continue to attack unders as long as these totals look inflated to us.

Tonight is game four in the Boston-Atlanta series with Boston up 2-1. The Hawks were able to come out with the victory Saturday as the Celtics let down some on defense. The Hawks shot well, especially from three-point range, and the Celtics studied film all day yesterday to try to form a strategy to stop them. With the Celtics being the best defensive team in the league, I am confident that they will do just that tonight. We will go with under on this game. The total is at 190.

Boston-Atlanta Under 190

NBA Playoffs Sunday April 27th

Never a doubt last night with the Houston-Utah game. Stayed well under the total of 186. We actually had the game figured at 167.5 and the final tally was 168. Today, the action continues with four games scheduled and we like two totals today.

Going to go with the under in the San Antonio-Phoenix game. The number is at 201. The Spurs have elevated themselves in this series and are playing much superior basketball. I think they get the sweep today and will control this game's pace from the outset.

The other total we are going with is the under on the Hornets-Mavericks. Our number on this game is low 180's and the total is at 195.

Spurs-Suns Under 201

Hornets-Mavericks Under 195

Houston-Utah NBA Saturday April 26th

This should be a good game tonight. These two have had a very physical series so far and the Rockets were able to come out with a victory the other night in Salt Lake. With Rafer Alston back in the lineup, they looked like a different team, with a more balanced attack.

Like the under in this game. The total is at 186 right now after opening at 185.5. I look for a slow pace and very physical play from both of these teams tonight. If the Rockets are to come out with another win, they will have to have this game go along with their style of play.

Pistons/Sixers Last Night

Just some observations about last night's game between these two. Having made my personal wager on the Sixers plus 5 and over the total of 180 early Friday morning, I tuned into ESPN2 to watch this game, just like millions of others. I am still finding it hard to believe what I saw.

What I watched was the young, upstart Sixers schooling the so-called "second best team in the East" in just about every aspect of basketball. Seemed that every time a shot went up, there was nothing but white jerseys around the basket to rebound and since the Pistons shot under 41% from the field, that occurred often. The Sixers out hustled, out shot and just out played the Pistons in every department. Detroit did contribute to their own demise, of course, with 23 turnovers, 3 for 15 shooting from three-point range and shooting under 70% from the free throw line.

So what is it with this series? Do the Pistons lack focus? Are they complacent? The 76ers are young, playoff inexperienced, and are not supposed to win this series. Just that somebody forgot to tell them or their coach Maurice Cheeks. They do believe they can win and move on to the second round , their fans believe it, and so do I.

As far as the Pistons go, I feel embarrassed for them. They lack focus so far in this series and have apparently not heeded the wake-up call that they received in game 1. If they do not turn this thing around quickly, they will have their asses handed to them and be going home very early.

By the way, I won the bet on Philly plus 5, lost the bet on the over, but it was almost worth it to just sit and root for the Sixers to win the game.

We will take a look at Saturday's matchups and possibly be back with some more free selections.

NBA Playoffs Friday April 25th

The Detroit-Philly series moves to Philadelphia tonight and the Sixers will be pumped up in front of the home crowd after gaining a split in Detroit. The total is at 180, and we see a more lively offensive game, similiar to game 2.

So, we go with the over here and expect the Sixers to play tough and keep it close or maybe even come out with the win..So we are also taking the Sixers plus the 5 points.

Magic-Raptors Tonight..Thursday April 24th

Can't believe we got a push on that game..it just ended with the total falling right on the number that we bet ..202. It was an under game all the way, and they just missed getting over the total.

We will try again tomorrow. So far, the playoffs have been a little more challenging than the last half of the regular season for picking totals. They talk about the Zig-Zag theory alot in the Playoffs as an angle which applies to picking sides. Watching the other game right now and it sure applies there as the Cavs are getting their butts handed to them by the Wizards..

Well, we had one thing right last night-The Pistons had to win that game and they did. They did it by shooting much better from the field and on top of that, the pace of the game was slightly faster than expected. We have dropped two straight, but not to fear, we are still hitting over 63% this year.

Tonight we are going with the over in the Magic-Raptors game. The total is at 202 at most places..some have it at 202.5.

NBA Playoffs Wednesday, April 23rd

Our streak ended at nine last night with the Suns-Spurs game getting over the total. Tonight we start another winning streak with the Philly-Detroit game. Going to go with the under again on these two. If Detroit wants to win this game, they will have to step it up on the boards. They lost the first game of this series in the rebounding department, and if they bring their A-game defensively, it should go way under the total. They know they need to turn this thing around before heading to Philly for game 3.

NBA Playoffs Suns At Spurs Tuesday April 22nd

These two had a wild game Saturday going into overtime twice. The game total after regulation was 186 and this was with both teams shooting exceptionally from the field. Look for tonight's game to stay under the total of 192 as long as The Spurs control the pace of the game. They know that if they let this game turn into a track meet, they have no chance against the Suns.

NBA Playoffs Sunday April 20th-Free Selection

Today, we like the Philly-Detroit game. The total is 180 on this game and we see a very slow-methodical, type pace here. This is the playoffs, and we believe that the Pistons will take it to the Sixers defensively, although we do respect the scrappiness of the Sixers as they did play well towards the end of the regular season. We have the number on this game in the high 160's and we are going with the under..

NBA Playoffs Saturday April 19th

The playoffs begin tomorrow starting with the Wizards and Cavaliers in Cleveland. This matchup has been the subject of alot of hype in the media with players from both teams jabbing each other in the press.

These two teams met in the first round last year under similiar circumstances. The total on this game is at 188. We see this game staying under that number as things tighten up on defense during the playoffs. Teams will usually go to more of a half-court offense when the playoffs begin and this game has under written all over it.

NBA Sunday April 13th

Going to change things up a little today and go with a side instead of a total. Let's see if we can grab one more winner before the regular season comes to a close and we turn our focus to the playoffs.

Tonight, the Orlando Magic travel into Chicago to play the Bulls. The Magic have been stumbling lately while trying to win their 50th game of the season. Jeff Van Gundy has challenged his team in the media of late, saying that they have lost their focus, especially on the boards.

The Minnestota Timberwolves went into Orlando the other night and came out with a one-point win and the Magic lost the battle on the boards again losing a game that they should have easily won.

We see Orlando going into Chicago tonight and thrashing the Bulls, not only to get that 50th win, but to right the ship going into the playoffs..Take the Magic minus 4.

NBA Regular Season Winding Down

As we near the end of the regular season, it becomes a little more difficult to find games with any "meaning", except in the Western Conference, of course. We went 2 for 2 the other night bringing our winning percentage up to just under 63%. A good way to finish and look forward to the playoffs.

Tonight, we again take the under in a Seattle game. The Sonics visit San Antonio in the last game of their Texas trifecta. We see the same thing happening here that happened in both Houston and Dallas..The Sonics are crushed on the offensive end by the Spurs defense who were beaten at home last out by the Suns and held to 77 points..They will take it out on Seattle tonight and flex their muscles..We see the game total in the 170's. Take the under.

Grabbed another win last night when the Sonics-Mavs game stayed under the total..Never had to sweat in that one even with the Mavs shooting way over their average from the floor, 3 point range, and the free-throw line..game went under by 20 points..we like those.

Tonight we try again, this time with two picks. Taking the under in the Chicago-Orlando game where the total is at 206.5 and the under 193 in the Sonics-Rockets matchup for obvious reasons, I think.

NBA Tuesday April 8th-Free Selection

The Rockets and Clippers cooperated the other night staying under the total..just barely. We are sitting at 61% winning percentage as the regular season winds down..Another under tonight is our pick.

The Sonics visit Dallas tonight where the total is at 203. We look for that same situation here that has brought us a few winners over the last couple of weeks. The Mavs should be able to totally shut down Seattle's offense and cruise to an easy win while resting their starters late, especially Dirk, their scoring machine. I'm thinking something like 105 to 88, or something along those lines. Take the under.

Cruised to an easy one the other night..the Rockets and Sonics game was under all the way. They wound up with a total of 145 points in that game, never in doubt. That winner took us over 60 percent again, a excellent winning percentage, not to mention, a money maker.

Tonight we try again with a similiar spot. The Rockets visit the Clippers for their last game of this West Coast trip. We see the similiar circumstances here..the Rockets able to completely shut down the Clips and keep this one under the total, which is at 187.5.

Houston-L.A. Clippers Under 187.5

Lost a close one last night..game went over by 1 point with Chicago sinking two free throws with 3.4 seconds remaining in the game.

Tonight, there is limited action in the NBA, but we have a selection. Going to go with the under in the Chicago-Cleveland game. The total is at 198. This looks like a defensive battle between division rivals.

NBA-Nuggets-Suns Tuesday April 1st

Last night these two went at it, with Phoenix rallying from 22 points down to get the win at home. Now the two teams travel to Denver in the second of a home and home. Looking for this game to be extremely fast paced with both teams a little fatigued from last night's game not to mention the effect of the altitude in Denver.

The total is 236 on this game and we are just going to jump on the over. The Suns may try to slow it down and take control especially on the road but we can't see Denver's will to run being overwhelmed in this spot..Take the over.
